Jersey to host European Umpire Workshop
The umpiring workshop is designed to up-skill European umpires who are regularly appointed to T20I bi-lateral matches and Non-ICC International T20I tournaments. It will provide an opportunity to network with experienced officials from other countries as well as provide a professional development opportunity for those who would like to improve knowledge of officiating in international cricket.
Heath Kearns (ICC Development panel umpire) and David Jukes (ICC Match referee panel) will be running the weekend long programme. Heath has been a member of the ICC development panel for many years now and has officiated in numerous ICC events. Additionally, he is a current member of the ECB National panel of umpires and has experience officiating in domestic leagues in Jersey, England and Australia. David Jukes is a long-standing member of the ICC match referee panel and is a well-known figure in European cricket. He has acted as a match referee in many ICC events at regional as well as global level.
This workshop will be centred around officiating T20I matches in bi-lateral & non-ICC events and will cover the following areas:
• 3rd umpire duties in international cricket
• Code of conduct violations (reporting process & paperwork)
• Managing player behaviour
• Working as a ‘team’ of officials
• Continuing professional development for umpires
The workshop will take place in Jersey, over the weekend of 26th & 27th February at the Monterey Hotel, St Saviours Road, St Helier, Jersey, JE2 7LA.
