Jersey Cricket announces next Chief Executive Officer

Jersey Cricket has announced the appointment of Sarah Gomersall as its next Chief Executive Officer. Sarah succeeds Craig Meredith who left the Island earlier this year.

Sarah, who currently serves Jersey Cricket in the capacity of a Non-Executive Director, is taking up the full-time Cricket CEO position after leaving her current role as Chief People Officer of global professional services provider Equiom and will take up her new duties in February 2023.

John Harris, Chairman of Jersey Cricket, said: “All at Jersey Cricket are very pleased that Sarah has been successful in her candidacy for this vital role as the Executive Head of Jersey Cricket, with her appointment coming at a critical juncture in Jersey Cricket’s journey after a particularly successful year in 2022.

The selection process undertaken was rigorous, with the participation of the International Cricket Council (ICC), as well as an independent HR professional drawn from the Jersey business community. A total of 17 applications were received.

Sarah brings great business experience as well as her existing detailed knowledge of Jersey Cricket to the role, having acted for the organisation across a wide range of activities in her Non-Executive capacity over the past few years. We are delighted to welcome her as our new CEO and look forward to continuing success and progress for Jersey Cricket with her at the helm”.

Sarah Gomersall said: “It is a huge honour to be joining Jersey Cricket at such a significant time for cricket on the Island. I am looking forward to building new relationships with the clubs and other stakeholders, and to leading the delivery of our strategic plan in an inclusive and sustainable way”.
